Chairman

John has had extensive experience in the Insurance/Finance sector. He holds board positions with companies involved in receivables management, risk management, partnership marketing and community health. He has also been involved in the public sector; both local and state government, resulting in a number of board appointments to statutory bodies including the Country Fire Authority (CFA) and Western Water Corporation (Deputy Chairman).

He is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Management and of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Leon Sholl LLB
Solicitor/Director

Leon has practised as a litigation lawyer for 35 years in all jurisdictions, with a strong bias towards Insurance and Commercial Law.

After admission as a Barrister & Solicitor in Victoria, Leon commenced practice in 1970. As his practice grew, Leon focused on Commercial and Insurance Litigation and by the 1980s, he was acting for 15 insurance companies in Victoria.

In 1990, Leon incorporated his practice as Sholl Nicholson Pty, acting predominantly in motor, property and indemnity disputes. As the practice also acted for a number of NSW and Queensland clients, Leon decided to open a new legal practice in those states, under the name Mason Black Lawyers. Mason Black commenced trading in Sydney in 2003, and in Queensland and Victoria in 2006.
